Do you suffer from rheumatoid
arthritis? More than 2,000,000 Americans are affected by this
form of arthritis, but help might be on the way.
An
FDA advisory committee has recommended that Abatacept, a drug
which treats rheumatoid arthritis, to be approved. If approved,
Abatacept will be sold by Bristol-Meyers Squibb as Orencia. Orencia
will work in a different way than normal rheumatoid arthritis
medications. Orencia will block the activation of T-cells,
rather than using immunosuppressants, as do current rheumatoid
arthritis medications.
Soon we will have an interactive
forum covering all aspects today's drug issues. Until then you
can e-mail us your comments and we will post them to the forum
as soon as it is active. E-mail
