Rate marijuana:  Canadian Professors given right to smoke pot on the job

Monday, November 13. 2006

Do the medical benefits of marijuana require legalization?

Two universities in Canada have given two different professors the right to smoke marijuana on the job for medical reasons.

It has been proven beyond any doubt that marijuana does have medicinal benefits. If marijuana has medicinal benefits, why is it illegal for doctors in the United States to prescribe marijuana?

Why is it O.K. for doctors to prescribe pharmaceuticals that have killed people, but they are not allowed to prescribe a god-made herb?

Despite whether your think marijuana should simply be legalized, just as alcohol or tobacco, shouldn't it at least be legal for doctors to prescribe marijuana to those people whom have a disease, such as degenerative arthritis, that marijuana helps?

I say shame on the U.S. government.

Perhaps marijuana shouldn't be legalized, but it should at least be accepted as a medicinal herb and doctors should be able to utilize the medicinal benefits of marijuana. Do you think marijuana should be legalized?

If marijuana offers medicinal benefits why do the Feds stop doctors from utilizing its health benefits?
